Common Reporting Scenarios

This article will detail some common reporting scenarios and how to access that information in Valant.

How to find total active patients and how many are insurance vs self-pay?

The Patient Report can be exported to Microsoft Excel and you can get a total of the patients in the rows. Or CSV Facesheet and get the line count. A user could also use the facesheet to filter out people with no insurance information.

Report to show patients who haven't been had an appointment in a certain amount of time.

Use the Patient Activity report and last visit date and end date to specify a date range.

Report for patients that have not been seen?

The Patient Activity report will show the last date a patient was seen. A blank will mean they have never been seen. Valant counts a recorded appointment as marking an appointment as complete.

How do I find all patients that have a credit?

To find patients that have a credit or negative balance on their account (indicating the patient is owed balance), can be found using the Patient Aging Summary report. In the minimum balance field put 0 and in the maximum field put a negative value like -10,000. This will show all patients that have a credit as their overall balance.

How do I count the units for visits?

The Charges report will count the units for all visits.
