EDE-Q6 - Eating Disorder Examination Questionnaire

Description

The Eating Disorder Examination- Questionnaire  6.0 (EDE- Q6) is a 33 item screener used to evaluate eating disorders concerned with the past four weeks (28 days) only. It provides a measure of the range of severity of eating disorder features. It can also help interpret operational eating disorders. This measure is used in most treatment studies and in many investigations of eating disorder research.

Scoring

The EDE generates two types of scores:

  •  It provides frequency data on behavioral features of eating disorders in terms of number of episodes of the behavior and in some instances number of days which the behavior has occurred.
  • Provide subscale scores reflecting the severity of aspects of the psychopathology of eating disorders.

The subscales are Restraint, Eating Concern, Shape Concern and Weight Concern. To obtain a particular subscale score, the ratings for the items are added together and the sum divided by the total number of items forming the subscale. Overall score can be obtained when the four subscales scores are summed and the resulting total divided by the number of subscales (4). Subscales are reported as means and standard deviations.

Special Instructions

Once the patient has submitted, you may preview it on the uninitialed documents tab in the EHR. If initialed before a Mobile Note is started it will not pull into the mobile note.
